Bisq Meats and Sandwiches, located in Time Out Market in Fenway, will close its doors permanently after Sunday, Aug. 20, according to a statement from Time Out Market.

Bisq, originally located in Cambridge before moving to Time Out Market, is perhaps best known for its meaty sandwiches. Sando options include a pork belly sandwich, a fried chicken sandwich, and a cubano. It also serves up turkey caesar wraps, crispy chicken strips, and a southern sweet shrimp caesar salad.

"While we are very sad to say goodbye to BISQ – truly one of the best culinary offerings in the city – we are delighted to continue to work with Chef Alex Sáenz and Servio Garcia as their Taqueria El Barrio, which opened in 2020 in the Market, will continue to have a presence," the market's statement read.

The eatery's fried chicken sandwich was described as "the standard" by one Yelp reviewer who says they always leave Bisq satisfied.

"One of, if not the best, fried chicken sandwich I've ever had (top two at least)," another Yelper wrote. "The right amount of crispiness and virtually non-greasy, yet juicy."

Time Out Market has not said what vendor will next fill the space left by Bisque.
